Pentadox is the contemporary jazz trio of Samuel Ber (drums), Bram De Looze (piano) and Sylvain Debaisieux (tenor sax). Their tenor saxophone-piano-drums formula allows for a unique blend of textures and harmonic, melodic and rhythmic experimentation, which resulting in a real-time musical discovery led by the three protagonists.
The band was founded in 2015 during a residency in Jazz Station (Brussels) and – only a few months later it was chosen as Belgian finalist at the B-Jazz International Contest. The band is currently working on Pentadox 5, a project which explores the sonic possibilities of an elaborate horns section, which includes Guillaume Orti (alto sax) and Bo Van Der Werf (baritone sax).
