HCI Info Days 2016

HCI Info Days 2016

On the 21st of June I attended the HCI info days in Walldorf.  It was the moment to get a fresh update on SAP’s efforts to build an integration platform based on HANA.  Last year I participated in a codejam and I played around with an early preview of the B2B advisor.  It showed already the strong commitment of SAP to build their own integration platform on HANA.

Where are we now with SAP Hana Cloud Platform Integration Service (HCI)?  Udo Paltzer, product manager HCI informed us about some important strategic decisions.  First of all, all new licenses for Success Factors will be shipped with an HCI license.  (Instead of a Boomi license)  Second, as of now it is possible to deliver partner content for the HCI content catalog.HCI

The HCI roadmap for 2016 was presented, on which the following interesting features catched the eye: adapters for AS2, XI, WS-RM and RFC, integration with Solace, integration with API management, self-service for security  and a much stronger commitment to B2B.  This is just a selection of the roadmap, for the full roadmap you might refer to the HCI site.  I’m already looking forward to get a chance to test the new features in the next beta release.

After the introduction on the latest features of HCI we got an update from different partners on their progress to deliver HCI to their customers or on how they contribute to HCI by developing adapters and/or integration content.  Overall it shows that the interest in HCI is growing.
